These films were originally available at the following URL... http://www.lemsko.de/acm.html but that link seems to have died. These are probably the best examples of films to teach Air Combat Maneuvers that I've run across. They were originally sampled for an intranet, so clarity, and unfortunately size are fairly large. But they were set up for download and offline study. I am presenting these here for the edification of the flight sim communities that I participate in, Red Baron, Air Warrior, Aces High, and any others that may benefit from them. The original site, was, I believe for Warbirds.

barrel.zip 421kb download. Demonstration of the barrel roll as a defensive maneuver.
break.zip 385kb download. Demonstration of the break turn as a defensive maneuver
chandelle.zip .281kb download. Demonstration of the chandelle, or climbing spiral turn. BFM.
crossturn.zip 431kb download. Demonstration of the basic cross break turn for a wing pair to engage a pursuing bandit.
f4_crstrn.zip 400kb download. Demonstration of a finger four formation making a 90° turn to the left, returning to the finger four formation.
hammer.zip 521kb download. Demonstration of the hammer head turn vertical maneuver, also called the Luftwaffe Stomp IIRC.
inplace.zip 367kb download. Demonstration of the inplace turn. wing pair both break to the left to engage pursuing bandit.
lagpurs.zip 133kb download. Demonstration of lag pursuit.
lagroll.zip 133kb download. Demonstration of a rather esoteric and useful ACM. Used to bleed speed and gain angles on your target. Very counterintuitive and difficult to visualize from written descriptions and static charts.
lo-yoyo.zip 448kb download. Demonstration of the low yo-yo manuver.
Mrge11.zip 475kb download. Nose to nose merge, 109 roping a low E 51 with a zoom to a hammerhead.
Mrge12.zip 470kb download. Nose to nose, FW ropes a dweeby 51 that flat turns...
Mrge13.zip 526kb download. Fairly complex merge, vertical use by both the 51 and the 109. Does not end in an obvious gun solution.
Mrge14.zip 409kb download. The 109 and the 51 both maneuver in the vertical with the 109 getting a snapshot opportunity. (I think that the maker of these films really hated the P-51 Mustang... They're always doing dweeby stuff in front of Luftwaffe iron...)
Mrge2.zip 591kb download. Modestly complex horizontal plane maneuvers, slight vertical usage. This time the 51 is the one getting the angles over the 190, but no definite guns solution. (Guess someone complained...<G>)
scissors1.zip 133kb. FW getting angles on a 51 in a scissors duel.
splitturn.zip 311kb download. Wing pair breaking left and right to attack a bandit on their six. Good maneuver against solo pursuers. It presents a nice Hobson's choice to the bandit, who to attack and who to let attack him...
tactrn.zip 406kb download. Wing pair make series of 90° turns to wing up going 180° from their original heading. Except for the period of the actual turns, they maintain original formation.
wingover.zip 292kb download. Exaggerated hi yo-yo... The original Immelman turn, not the half loop that bears the name now.
yoyo1.zip 292kb download. Demonstration of the high yo-yo maneuver. Once more, a 51 dweebing out against a FW-190.
